Welcome to the Street Called Straight. This is the name of the road in ancient Damascus where the apostle Paul was taught about the good news (or gospel) of Jesus Christ. As you may already know, the Christ (which mean “the anointed one”) was the fulfillment of the ancient Hebrew prophecies and He would bring forgiveness of sin into the world so that men might have eternal life with God.
After this conversion event, Paul’s life would be forever changed. You could say that he changed the road that he was on and thereafter traveled the road that leads to God. It’s not always an easy road (Paul suffered many persecutions), but its the only one that leads to eternal life. In early Christianity, it was known by some as “The Way”. My goal is to follow this path and I’d like to bring you along with me.
You see, I was once on another path…a road to no where. It was a path full of my own best thinking and selfish desire, but one that was leading me to eternal destruction. And I admit that after years of sin, I was too weak to make the needed changes on my own. I had to be willing to give up control and hand my life over to God. Now I’ve decided to turn completely to God through Jesus Christ and rely on His strength and power to transform me into the man that He wants me to be. This blog is the story of that journey and its unfolding each and every day.
